The
Windsor-Essex Regional Chamber of Commerce and Title
Sponsor, The Windsor Star announced the finalists for
the 20th Annual Business Excellence Awards January 26,
2010 at
Hiram Walker & Sons Limited.
The
Business Excellence Awards recognizes integrity,
creativity and the dedication that helps a business succeed
despite challenging times.
Windsor-Essex “Solutions For Our Future” is the
theme for this year's event, that will be held on Wednesday, April
14, 2010 at One Riverside Drive West (Chrysler
Building). This event allows the entire community to
celebrate the achievements of our distinguished lineup
of Windsor Essex/County businesses, professionals and
entrepreneurs. Award recipients will be announced during
a gourmet dinner and show, produced by Media Street
Productions.
An
independent panel of judges reviewed the nominations and
determined the finalists in each category.

BROWNFIELD REDEVELOPMENT PLAN IS BACK ON THE AGENDA AT CITY
HALL

The
City
of Windsor Brownfield Redevelopment Strategy and
Community Improvement Plan (CIP) will soon be a
subject at two City Hall meetings.
The
public is invited to the Planning Advisory
Committee (PAC) on February 18, 2010 and the final
plan will be presented to City of Windsor Council
on March 22, 2010.
The
Chamber will attend both meetings, advocating for
the plan to be implemented as soon as possible.

FEDERAL
MONEY HELPS COMPANIES EXPAND TO DEVELOPING COUNTRIES
|

Companies
seeking to develop or expand trade and investment
in developing countries can now turn to a $20
million program for support. Just
launched, the Canadian International
Development Agency’s Industrial Cooperation (CIDA-INC)
program will provide funding to:
- Assess
investment opportunities
- Demonstrate
and adapt technologies
- Undertake
activities targeted to enhance the economic,
environmental and social benefits a project
- Support
the increased sustainability of a project.

The
City of Windsor invites your organization to help
with the push to win Windsor a spot on Hasbro’s
MONOPOLY Canada.
If
you are interested in helping spread the word for
Windsor, the City encourages organizations to
place the Vote Now graphic on their website, with
a link to www.monopolyvote.ca.
Voting
in the nationwide competition continues until
February 7. Voters can choose up to three
cities each day, and the top 20 cities will be
included on the game board. The city with
the most votes will occupy the highest rent
property, traditionally held by Boardwalk.
